Subject: Fwd: Like a Hero
Hello, Sandi, I visited and rode at your
wonderful stable for a few days, while down from Massachusetts to visit
my ailing mother. That visit -- everything about it -- reawakened my
love of horses and of riding. While there I rode Like a Hero for my
first lesson in what I said was, about
15 years. (Truth be told, it was actually more like 40!) Hero was
such a gentleman: beautifully mannered, responsive to my every
ill-remembered skill, a sheer delight to ride. Only when I returned to
my mother's place that night and googled him, did I learn that he was a
stakes-winning son of Pleasant Colony, and finished 6th in the 2002
Belmont. Of course it was clear he had the class and the athleticism to
be such a performer; the most amazing thing, however, was how he had
grown into an even more perfect riding horse. Under your care and that
of your instructors. I truly doubt many OTB's have anything like that
grace: the ability to "switch gears," as they say in the racing world.
The gears that Hero switched in moving from the track to your stable is
a far greater thing than most racehorses can accomplish. I am writing
on the very, very off-chance that Hero might be available for sale.
And if not, then I'd simply like to sign up in advance to visit him and
you the next time I'm in Jupiter, and to send you my very best wishes
for the marvelous work you do.--Meghan

I have decided that you need to change your business plan to include
moving to Aiken. We need someone here that is in the business because
they truly care about the people and horses. We miss you so much. Abby
is doing so well. We are really having a hard time finding a trainer
that is concerned with her and what she needs to progress. We are
searching for a new barn and trainer now. The problem is there is no one
here like you. Everyone here is only concerned with how much money they
can possibly squeeze out of you. Let me know if you know of any one in
this area.
